The first Epica comic was made by Charlotte van Beek and Lars Wassenaar.
It was a Manga-alike comic with a strange storyline.

Charlotte and Lars went to the forest with their best friend the Grim Reaper.
According to Henry, the pig-alike psychiatrist, it was a good idea to camp in the forest to weaken your
aggression.

Later that night, Charlotte, Lars and the Grim Reaper met Slenderman, a tall eerie figure with no face,
and Maitjuw, the selfish prince of Digostolis.
They started fighting each other because Slenderman thought Charlotte, Lars and the Grim Reaper
were intruders.

Luckily, Henry stopped them from fighting each other and brought them to his "Therapy loft".
Later that moment, they became friends and went on many adventures together.
